What Does Membership Offer ?

Participation in guided heritage tours, talks, exhibitions, conferences, cultural exchange trips and other events, with members’ discount if fees required

  • Free participation for members’ children under 18 years of age
  • Invitations to private events to network and exchange ideas with like-minded people
  • Access to the Members’ Pages of our website.
  • from time to time special benefits at third party organisations/businesses.

Above all, SHS membership in your expression of support to our cause: the conservation of Sarawak’s valuable cultural heritage through Awareness raising, Advocacy, Analysis and Advice (our “3As” ).

Membership Fees

  • Ordinary (Sarawak residents) and Affiliate (non-Sarawak residents): 1 year: RM 50.   Current special rate for 3 years membership : RM 120
  • Student annual rate : RM 25
  • Institutional membership: please enquire with us

Membership goes by calendar year (January-December). Membership subscription fees are due at the beginning of the year.

    Your Society has done tremendous work on restoration or keeping record many of the Sarawak old heritages. I would like to join and be a member. However, I am no longer a citizen of Malaysia (ex-Sarawakian), and would I still be eligible to apply for membership.

      Thank you for your encouraging message.

      Yes, non Malaysians are eligible to join SHS: there is no restriction on citizenship. If you are not residing in Sarawak, you can join SHS as Associate Member. Membership fees for Associate Members are the same as those for regular individual members, ie RM 50 for 1 year and a reduced rate of RM 120 for 3 years. You have probably spotted the downloadable application form and the banking data on this website.
