The Siniawan town is strongly associated with the history of Sarawak’s Hakka community. The Swee Guk Temple is known to be 141 years old.

The Sarawak Heritage Society has been involved in a conservation project of Siniawan’s old Chinese town (see our post of 15 Nov. 2014)
